Terms and Conditions

This document establishes some basic understandings between the organizer / therapist (“Practitioner”) and the client (“Client”), whether that Client is an individual, a couple, a family, or a participant in group therapy.

Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy

Therapy sessions, and initial discussions, are confidential except under court order, or if the Practitioner reasonably believes the Client, or others, are at risk for harm.

Success in meeting Client’s goals is not guaranteed. However, we may also exceed Client’s initial goals.

If Client is late for a session, the session will complete at the scheduled time but may be extended at the discretion of the Practitioner.

Shipping Information

Products that are electronically delivered are generally available within minutes from the time the order transaction is completed. Online coaching (as compared with  online or in-person psychotherapy) may require up to a business day of preparation to provide the access to online coaching materials. Access to online coaching materials consists of providing the buyer an account online, with access to links for the interactive coursework or reading materials.

Products that are physical, such as printed books, are generally shipped and delivered within seven business days or less. Shipment is provided via US mail. Other delivery options available include UPS delivery, and accelerated delivery.

Cancellations

Individual Therapy

If Client cancels a session with at least 24 hours notice, Practitioner and Client will make reasonable efforts to re-schedule the session if both parties wish to do so. If it becomes impossible or is not desired to re-schedule a session timely cancelled by Client, then that session becomes a missed session that will not be made up.

The Practitioner requires that cancellations be made at least 24 hours before a scheduled session, to allow Practitioner’s effective use of time as well as to increase the opportunity for re-scheduling of sessions. If cancellations are made by Client with less than 24 hours notice, or if Client does not show up for a scheduled session, the Practitioner may at his/her discretion charge a missed session fee or the full session fee, even if a new session is additionally scheduled to replace the missed session.

Group work and group events

For events run by Practitioner that involve a scheduled date and group attendance, individuals can receive an unconditional and full refund if cancellation is provided via email at least 48 hours before the event, except for events that have special requirements such as space reservations or small-group size. In the latter such cases, specific cancellation policies will be provided to registrants and will be included and visible at the time of registration for event before payment is completed.

Returns / Refunds

The refund amount will be product price and any sales tax, but excluding any shipping and handling fees. Refund will be provided after the Practitioner receives the returned physical product in question in complete and undamaged condition.

For self-study classes and gift certificates, a 30-day unconditional refund policy applies from date of Client receiving the item or access to the item, if the self-study class has not been accessed, or for gift certificates with a dollar value assigned, the unused portion of the total gift amount is available to be refunded for requests within the specified time period. The refund request must be made via email, which becomes the date of the request.
