The Future World I Envision: A Testament to Our True Potential

The future world I envision is driven by true freedom and true joy.

Driven, but not driven, because when we perceive reality with open eyes and ears, we are already at peace. Where is the need to be driven?

Freedom, but not freedom, because when there are no chains seen, where is the need for freedom? The concept of “freedom” is no longer in contrast to “no freedom”.

And when the mind and body no longer suffer with desires and disappointments, when our amazing world is clearly seen, where is the need to create an experience of joy, an experience that is already ours?

In the future world I envision, knowing the fluidity of life and time each of us will share our well-being as a human community, society, and planet.

Competition will be to see who can enter the stream of existence more fully, and who can share that experiential awareness more completely.

Instead of growth of material well-being, we will grow true well-being, by entering deeper into our essence.

Nations will barely exist, but will exist as a way to help administer needs, such as building and maintaining roads, supporting healthcare provision, and organizing other commonsense societal services.

Nations will be like departments in a well-run, public-service organization, where each department contributes to the common good. In this metaphor, the organization is our global society.

Without the need for perpetual growth, humanity will live in harmony with other species and with nature. Being open to appreciating every blade of grass, let alone trees and animals, how can we harm nature?

In this future world, each person will deeply appreciate the gift of existence, and will share generously and mutually with family, with friends, and with strangers.

The future world has been described as beating swords and spears into farming equipment. Indeed, all weapons of war will be destroyed, and there will be no fear of others.

There will be focus on life-maintaining healthcare solutions; it will be an effort that is focused but without desperation. We will work on quality and maintenance of life while not being overwhelmed by the need for quality and maintenance of life.

Science will focus on energy sources that protect our natural world, as well as methods of conserving resources. Damaging materials for everyday use (such as plastics) will be replaced by materials that fully return to the soil in a reasonable length of time, or that can be fully re-used.

This Future World: Can It Be?

There is no reason this future world cannot exist, other than our closely-held blindness about our own nature as human beings.

Future world: Happy group of all ages and backgroundsThere is nothing to cling to, yet we cling. There is nothing to gain, yet we seek to gain. There is nothing to lose, yet we are terrified of the ultimate loss.

The inherent gift we each are given, the gift of peace and inspiration, is often treated as being just a fantasy.

In the future world I envision, we will each participate fully in the peace and inspiration that is our birthright.

This potential reality has been demonstrated at least in part by uncounted millions who were physically paralyzed or quite ill, in that they have lived with joy in the midst of apparent limitations. It can be done and has been done!

When I was a child, we lived without locking the front door, at least during the day. That day will return, with doors not locked both day and night, in a life without fear of the other person.

My dear step-father used to say, “World peace is what we all want, but it won’t happen in our lifetimes”.

In the future world I envision, world peace will be the status quo, and will be built on widespread understanding of our inherent freedom and joy.

It will not happen in our lifetimes, but each of us can contribute to that future while we find our own inherent peace and inspiration, freedom and joy.
